📖 Questions?
The server is self-hosted locally via Uvicorn and is tunneled via Cloudflare
wherein a Cloudflare Worker, a serverless API, retrieves the information
and stores it in a KV for caching purposes.
The frontend is deployed via Cloudflare Pages and once requested via the
Cloudflare Worker, a proxy—rather than requests directly from the self-hosted
server—retrieves from the KV.
I chose this approach anticipating that if demand spiked or the API were exposed, it could overwhelm my home server, consume bandwidth, and cause issues.
Instead of handling requests directly, I leveraged Cloudflare Workers to offload the majority of the heavy lifting.
